The Water of Girvan and Girvan Marina

Rising in Loch Girvan Eye in South Ayrshire, on the northeastern slopes of Shalloch on Minnoch, the source of the Water of Girvan is located barely a mile (1.5 km) east of the source of the River Stinchar.

The Water of Girvan flows north through much of the best land of South Ayrshire, which comprises many fine country estates. The river enters and leaves Loch Bradan Reservoir and then, at Straiton, it heads northwest to a point 2 miles (3 km) north of Crosshill where it turns south and west before flowing past Dailly to enter the Firth of Clyde at Girvan.
