Knock Hill

A conical eminence rising to 430m (1412 feet) to the northwest of Glen Barry on the boundary between Moray and Aberdeenshire, Knock Hill lies 6 miles (10 km) southeast of Portsoy. Its summit is marked by an Ordnance Survey primary triangulation pillar installed in 1936 for the re-triangulation of Great Britain. The hamlet of Knock lies 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the south southeast. An annual cross-country race follows a grueling 8.5 mile (13.5 km) course to this hill from nearby Cornhill.
