Parish of Colmonell Colmonell is a coastal parish, which lies in South Ayrshire Council Area, some 9 miles (15 km) south of Girvan in South Ayrshire and 17 miles (27 km) northwest of Newton Stewart in Dumfries and Galloway.It is located in the old county of Ayrshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.The parish has an area of 194 sq. km (74.9 sq. miles).
