Parish of Minnigaff Minnigaff is a coastal parish, which lies in Dumfries and Galloway Council Area, some 7 miles (11 km) north of Newton Stewart and 7 miles (11 km) north of Newton Stewart in Dumfries and Galloway.It is located in the old county of Kirkcudbrightshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.The parish has an area of 361.3 sq. km (139.5 sq. miles). Minnigaff has 8 neighbouring parishes; namely Barr, Carsphairn, Colmonell, Girthon, Kells, Kirkmabreck, Penninghame and Straiton.
