Parish of Eaglesham

Eaglesham is a parish, which lies in East Renfrewshire Council Area, some 4 miles (7 km) south of Newton Mearns in East Renfrewshire and 6 miles (9 km) southwest of East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire.

It is located in the old county of Renfrewshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 64.7 sq. km (24.9 sq. miles). Eaglesham has 4 neighbouring parishes; namely East Kilbride, Fenwick, Loudoun and Mearns. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
