Parish of Dundonald

Dundonald is a coastal parish, which lies in South Ayrshire Council Area, some 4 miles (6 km) southeast of Irvine in North Ayrshire and 6 miles (9 km) southwest of Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire.

It is located in the old county of Ayrshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 49.5 sq. km (19.1 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Troon. Dundonald has 7 neighbouring parishes; namely , Dreghorn, Irvine, Kilmaurs, Monkton & Prestwick, Riccarton and Symington.
