Parish of Kirkconnel

Kirkconnel is a parish, which lies in Dumfries and Galloway Council Area, some 11 miles (18 km) east of Cumnock in East Ayrshire and 11 miles (18 km) southwest of Douglas in South Lanarkshire.

It is located in the old county of Dumfriesshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 108.3 sq. km (41.8 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Kirkconnel. Kirkconnel has 4 neighbouring parishes; namely Auchinleck, Crawfordjohn, New Cumnock and Sanquhar.
