A settlement in an Aberdeenshire parish of the same name, Boyndie lies between the Burn of Boyndie and the Moray Firth coast, 3 miles (5 km) west of Banff. RAF Banff was established to the west as a training based during the Second World War but closed in 1946. It is now the site of Boyndie Wind Farm.
