A district in N Dundee, on the border with Angus, Pitkerro lies to the east of Ballumbie, 1¼ miles (2 km) south southwest of Murroes and 1½ miles (2.5 km) north northwest of Broughty Ferry. Pitkerro House dates from the 16th century. A mill was built at West Pitkerro in 1583 and rebuilt in 1812. A house with a mill-wheel survives, but West Pitkerro is now principally the site of a large industrial estate. A farm remains at East Pitkerro.
