Parish of Rothiemay

Rothiemay is a parish, which lies in Moray Council Area, some 6 miles (10 km) north of Huntly in Aberdeenshire and 8 miles (12 km) east of Keith in Moray.

It is located in the old county of Banffshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 38.3 sq. km (14.7 sq. miles). Rothiemay has 6 neighbouring parishes; namely Cairnie, Forgue, Grange, Huntly, Inverkeithny and Marnoch. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
