Parish of Bathgate

Bathgate is a parish, which lies in West Lothian Council Area, some 5 miles (8 km) west of Livingston in West Lothian and 7 miles (11 km) south of Polmont in Falkirk.

It is located in the old county of West Lothian, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 44 sq. km (17 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Bathgate. Bathgate has 6 neighbouring parishes; namely Ecclesmachan, Linlithgow, Livingston, Shotts, Torphichen and Whitburn.
