A northwestern district of Barrhead in East Renfrewshire, Grahamston lies to the north of the Levern Water. This industrial district was centred around Graham Street in the mid 19th C. The Grahamston Iron Foundry grew in association with the railway to incorporate an engine works. Barrhead Railway Station is still located here, but modern housing has been developed at Grahamstone Park off Grahamston Road in Cross Stobbs, a half-mile (1 km) to the north.
